Sheldon Fine Art Presents Joyce Norwood and Gee Gee Collins
January 13, 2017
NAPLES, Fla. Sheldon Fine Art presents mother daughter artists Joyce Norwood and Gee Gee Collins.
Joyce Norwood, a native of North Carolina and now long-time Naples resident, is a consummate palette knife painter whose textural canvases capture the luminous ethereal light and color of the seashore as host to innocent children at play or forgotten weathered boats at rest. She began her art education at the New York Art Students’ League, continued at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, and was personally mentored by Sam Barber, a protégé of Henry Henche.
Gee Gee Collins, Joyce Norwood’s daughter, has followed in her mother’s footsteps, also pursuing a life of painting. Collins’ bold brush strokes and colorful palette combine to create layers of paint that give each abstract, figure or floral subject an energy, movement and “joie de vivre” that delight the viewer.
Sheldon Fine Art is proud to present the paintings of Mother and Daughter who have dedicated their talent to artistic brilliance for over 75 combined years. Their paintings will be shown for a limited engagement as “Exposition: Mere et Fille” from January 9 through January 15.
