Naples, FL (October 00, 2018) …The Nicklaus Children’s Resource Center, designed to showcase services, programs, technology and innovations at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, officially opened its doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 659 5th Avenue South on October 11th.
Naples Mayor Bill Barnett, Greater Naples Chamber President Michael Daley, and numerous representatives from the Naples City Council attended and participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony on October 11th. Also in attendance were Narendra Kini, MD, Presdient and CEO of Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Michael Harrington, President and COO of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
The Nicklaus Children’s Resource Center is located at the center of Naples’ historic 5th Avenue South. Nestled between storefronts and restaurants, the Resource Center is designed to attract foot traffic and pique pedestrian curiosity. “The Nicklaus Children’s Resource Center is the first of its kind on the Avenue and will add to the increasing diversity of the street. We are also excited about the high level of involvement we are seeing from our new merchants,” adds Bruce Barone Jr., Executive Director of the Business Improvement District. Nicklaus Children’s Resource Center will be sponsoring some events on 5th Avenue South, like the child costume contest at the upcoming Halloween Spooktacular event on October 31st.
In the past few years, 5th Avenue South has steadily evolved as not only a shopping destination but also an established business hub. As 5th Avenue South continues to grow as one of Naples’ top business centers, it maintains its reputation as one of the most influential streets in Southwest Florida.
The Nicklaus Children’s Resource Center joins over 200 businesses headquartered on the Avenue, but is undoubtedly be a unique addition. “The goal is to increase awareness about the wonderful work Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is doing and educate our local families about the high level of care available on the East coast,” says Julie Pedretti, Area Director of Community Relations for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. The center offers high-tech displays and videos to provide information about Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and is staffed with members who are able to assist with referrals or second opinions.
Pedretti is currently searching for volunteers to staff the Resource Center, and has already recruited numerous retired nurses and even a retired physician to volunteer at the 5th Avenue location. If you or someone you know might be interested in volunteering, please contact Julie Pedretti at Julie.Pedretti@Nicklaushealth.org.
