Naples restaurants: Alexander’s chef shares local favorites — Where the Chefs Eat
May 16, 2018
Alexander Bernard, chef/owner of Alexander’s Restaurant in Naples, points to three key ingredients when it comes to keeping a restaurant in business — hard work, commitment and passion.
And Bernard should know. His restaurant has been open since 1995 and continues to draw a loyal crowd.
Here are a few of his favorite spots.
What’s your go-to restaurant when you want to escape the kitchen? During season we like to go to the Gumbo Limbo at the Ritz for the atmosphere, and the staff is great. It’s on the beach, so you feel like you’re on vacation. We like that.
What are your favorite eateries on Fifth Avenue South? Tulia and Alberto’s. Tulia is a little more rustic. They’ve got more rustic Italian food — beans and sausages, pig ears and different things like that. Alberto’s has more traditional Italian cuisine, but he does it very well. He makes his own pasta, and his staff is very good as well. You’re going to get a good meal there.
