On June 17, Naples hosted its first Pride Fest, celebrating the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) community in Naples and surrounding areas.
I was manning a booth there and thus had a front-row view of this exciting event. I have lived in Naples for 13 years and have never before been in the midst of such love, joy and acceptance. I saw many people who I know — mothers, fathers, children, accountants, lawyers, nurses, waiters and students.
