Halftime report: Restaurants that opened or closed so far in 2017

Nearly as notable as the local restaurants that opened so far this year is the long list of eateries that had planned to open in the first half of the year but just didn’t yet. We’ll have more information on those in the coming weeks.
Today we celebrate the venues that launched in the first six months of 2017, as well as remember those that called it quits.
Cream of the crop: The two new restaurants in Naples that deservedly have the most people talking so far this year are The French Brasserie Rustique on Fifth Avenue South and True Food Kitchen in Waterside Shops. Both bring fresh, fun and — perhaps most importantly — delicious dining concepts with seasonal menus to the area.
