A Culinary Campaign Raising Spirits and Supporting Beverly’s Angels
The inaugural Flavors of 5th dining campaign has concluded with resounding success, welcoming both loyal patrons and new visitors to the iconic 5th Avenue South. Throughout August, the Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (BID) partnered with local nonprofit Beverly’s Angels to introduce the Flavors of 5th Prix Fixe Restaurant Month, offering a unique culinary experience in the heart of Naples.
Eleven of the Avenue’s most prestigious restaurants—including Chops City Grill, Del Mar Naples, Keewaydin’s on Fifth, Ocean Prime, Pazzo Cucina Italiana, Roma Italian Bistro, Sails, The French Brasserie Rustique, Truluck’s, Tulia Osteria and Vergina—offered multi-course, prix fixe menus starting at just $23.99. The campaign showcased a delectable variety of dishes, highlighting the vibrant flavors that make 5th Avenue South a premier dining destination.
The Flavors of 5th event not only delighted diners but also delivered an economic boost of approximately $450,000 during what is traditionally a slow season for local businesses. “Most merchants on the Avenue have reported visits and revenues comparable to 2017 and pre-Covid levels. It has been a challenging summer, and events like this make all the difference,” said Chris Shucart, President of the Fifth Avenue South BID.
In addition to driving business, participating restaurants raised an impressive $10,924 for Beverly’s Angels, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children of essential workers. “We’re thrilled with the overwhelming success of Flavors of 5th. This incredible community support kick-starts our Dear Santa campaign, enabling us to spread holiday magic to 43 children of those who work on the Avenue,” shared Marrisa DeVicais of Beverly’s Angels. “With continued community involvement, we know we can do even more.”
For the merchants and restaurants on 5th Avenue South, the summer months are an annual test of resilience. Beverly’s Angels recognized this need, reaching out to the BID in June to learn how they could help. “This partnership ensures that our workforce feels valued year-round,” said Rick Giannasi, Managing Partner of Del Mar Naples. “We’re proud to support the employees who keep 5th Avenue vibrant.”
The idea for Flavors of 5th was born when a group of restaurant owners and managers came together in June, determined to find creative solutions to uplift the Avenue. “This initiative reflects our commitment not just to the merchants but to the entire community,” said Meg Stepanian, Executive Director of the BID. “We are thrilled with the response and the collective impact we’ve made.”
The success of Flavors of 5th underscores the power of collaboration between businesses and the community. As the Avenue moves into its next season, the momentum from this campaign promises to elevate both dining experiences and local support.
