November 25, 2020
NAPLES, FL. – The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (BID) will host the 47th annual “Christmas on Fifth” on Friday, December 4th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, December 5th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. This special festival will combine holiday themed activities along with the ultimate nights of ‘al fresco’ dining on the street.
Fifth Avenue South will be closed off to traffic throughout the two-day event, allowing for a wide variety of holiday experiences to take place in a safe and socially distanced environment. Among the traditional activities are a Living Nativity by First Church of the Nazarene, a skating rink, live entertainment and an appearance by Santa Claus. There also will be a 20-foot artificial Christmas tree, fully lit with 10,000 LED lights, generously donated by the Hoffman Family of Companies and Fifth Avenue South BID.
Other highlights include an exclusive showcase of modern and vintage cars by Porsche Naples, official sponsor of Fifth Avenue South. Live music will be provided throughout the festival at VIP areas along the street, and Golisano Children’s Museum will be crafting in the kids’ corner with face painting and balloons by Evans Events. Official partner Slidr will also be on hand to provide concierge services up and down the Avenue.
This year’s “Christmas on Fifth” will also feature expanded outdoor dining, allowing guests to dine at their favorite restaurants right on the street. Participating restaurants include La Trattoria, Hob Nob, Osteria Tulia, The French, Sails, Ocean Prime, Dolce & Salato, BICE, Caffe Milano, Vergina, Roma, L’Olivio, Bistro 821, Molto Trattoria, La Pescheria and Sidebar. Reservations should be made directly with the specific restaurant.
“We are delighted to bring our community together for this much anticipated holiday event not only to support our businesses but also to create a beacon of hope during this difficult time,” said Bruce Barone, Jr., executive director of the Fifth Avenue South BID.
This year’s Festival will look a little different due to the global health crisis. All COVID-19 protocols have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved. Fifth Avenue South has partnered with NCH for guidance on safety and hygiene. Masks will be offered and sanitation and handwashing stations will be set up along the Avenue.
