The city of Naples is getting closer to adding another parking garage to 5th Avenue South.

On Monday, an advisory board voted 5 to 2 that the city should move forward with purchasing land to build a new parking garage. The Community Redevelopment Agency will consider that recommendation at their August meeting, and they could decide to approve the garage then. The garage would be funded from the CRA trust fund budget.
The land could cost $6 million, and construction could cost about $9 million. The site they identified is at the corner of 4th Avenue and 4th Street, on the west end of 5th Avenue.
