1st Ave S Road Closures News Release
June 14, 2019
Beginning Monday, June 17th, 1st Avenue South between the following roadways will be closed to install new utility improvements as part of the 8th Street Corridor Improvement Project:
- East of 7th Street South and west of US41
- At the intersection of 10th Street South
Local traffic access only on 1st Avenue South, west of US41 and east of 6th Street South. The public right-of-way, including sidewalk, will be closed on 1st Avenue South between 6th Street South and 8th Street South. The closure of 8th Street South between 1st Avenue South and 3rd Avenue South will remain closed during this work. Third Avenue South has reopened for east/west traffic. All businesses remain open.
Drivers should be alert for construction signage, workers, and equipment and are encouraged to allow additional time in their schedule. Your cooperation and patience are appreciated during the work.
