The League of Women Voters of Collier County, in partnership with the Collier County Coalition, will host a non-partisan candidate forum for those running for the Naples City Council on February 1, starting at 5 pm. The Forum is to be held at City Hall Chambers at Naples City Hall, 735 8th Street S, Naples FL. The moderators will be John Davis of WGCU and Wendy Fullerton Powell of Naples Daily News.

Candidates for the position of Mayor will be speaking at the first hour and fifteen minutes, and candidates for the City Council positions will start at 6:30 pm. Each candidate will be asked to address questions developed by the Coalition, and there will be some time for the audience to submit questions as well.

Currently, three candidates have filed to run for Mayor, and five for the three available City Council positions, but the list of candidates may not be official until January 19. Those filing thus far are: Ted Blankenship, Teresa Heitmann and Gary Price for Mayor and Berne Barton, Garey Cooper, Bill Kramer, Linda Penniman, and Tony Perez-Benitoa for City Council seats.

The public is invited, and space is limited; overflow space may be provided if needed, with visitors watching the forum on a monitor. The Forum will be recorded and can be viewed on the Naples government channel and on WGCU soon after the event.

Members of the Collier County Coalition are: The League of Women Voters of Collier County, Naples Area Board of Realtors, Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, Greater Naples Leadership, Naples Better Government, Collier Citizen Council, and Collier Building Industry Association.
