Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District Adds New Banners Enriching Brand for Naples’ Historic Main Street
May 19, 2021
NAPLES, FL. – The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (BID) has added a series of new streetlight banners hailing its designation as Naples’ Historic Main Street. These colorful, one-of-a-kind banners signify sophistication and express how the Avenue is unique and that its businesses are all unified following the events of 2020.
Over the past few weeks, Fifth Avenue South has been lined with the flowing streetlight banners, an enhancement initiative unanimously supported by Naples City Council. The banners feature elegant photos rendered in a paint style with welcoming messages promoting the Avenue as one of the world’s premiere shopping and dining destinations.
“We are excited to provide these beautiful new banners which highlight the Crown Jewel of Naples, our Historic Main Street,” said Bruce Barone, Jr., executive director for the Fifth Avenue South BID. “It is our hope that these banners will lift everyone’s spirit and add a hint of charm and elegance to the Avenue as we emerge from the pandemic.”
The concept of streetlight banners has been around for many years and is a growing trend as the artistic message board of the urban streetscape to promote a brand or special event.
The banner initiative on Fifth Avenue South is part of a larger marketing effort that takes the same message and magnifies it through advertising, media relations, digital platforms and events, making the brand stronger, more recognizable and memorable. The banners will be rotated seasonally with some remaining up in key locations throughout the year.
Merchants along Fifth Avenue South anticipate that the addition of these banners will create a cohesive brand that expresses the uniqueness of the Avenue with a collective identity that signifies unity, quality and sophistication. Whether on-foot or driving, visitors to Fifth Avenue South will see a unified look of strength as Naples’ Historic Main Street with a rich past and future filled with promise and progress. The more times they visit the Avenue, the more the connection becomes a permanent brand in their mind.
“We strongly believe that this initiative will not only enhance the brand of Fifth Avenue South and its businesses but also the City of Naples and our local economy,” Barone said.
Featuring more than 220 businesses, including high-end shops, world-class dining, unique boutiques and galleries, and exciting entertainment options, Fifth Avenue South is the vibrant heart of Naples. For further information, visit www.FifthAvenueSouth.com.
