Contemporary Master Artist Dario Campanile’s abstract paintings celebrate inspired wisdom and hope for humanity

Curated show at Emillions Art celebrates 55-year career of world art master
Naples, FL: (January 14, 2021) . . . Emillions Art will open its 2021 season with Salute — a solo exhibition of Contemporary Master Artist Dario Campanile’s abstract paintings today announced Marlissa Gardner, global art consultant and Emillions Art, LLC owner.
After decades of painting realism and surrealism, Campanile’s work has evolved into abstract expressionism, which is now the artist’s main focus and passion explains Ms. Gardner, adding that the curated Salute show is the culmination of an impressive 55-year career of one of the world’s true art masters and a celebration of wisdom and warmth, sensitivity and sensuousness, hope and humanity.
An opening reception with a personal appearance by the artist Campanile takes place on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 5 pm until 7:30 pm in the showroom’s 2nd floor location at 837 Fifth Avenue South in Naples. The exhibition will be open to the public 10 am until 5 pm daily February 5th through February 12th. Reservations are available online
“Working in abstract for me is the most direct and pure form of artistic expression coming from my unconscious,” says Campanile. “The challenge is to be able to trust and surrender and allow the channel of creativity to come through me, like an open vessel. This process most of the time is very daring because I want to make sure that the pure essence of child-like energy comes through the body and mind of the adult. My main goal is to be able to express my true soul and continue my journey by taking risks and always allowing myself to explore new visions,” he explains.
Campanile’s journey started in Rome, Italy where he was born on April 21, 1948. He expressed an affinity for art as a young boy. When he was 14, he was bedridden with a kidney ailment for three months, and his father gave him a set of oil paints to cheer him up. He painted his first still life in just a few days. His talent for oils was God given, not man made and his formal training in the arts was short lived. He “hated art school,” finding classes, instruction and authority too rigid. Instead, he spent time concentrating on painting in classical style influenced by Caravaraggio and other great Italian Masters. However, he wanted to discover the secret of painting himself, to find his own expression without being told where to look. He decided to experiment and continue discovering his own methods. At age 18 he met the Italian master of metaphysical art, Giorgio de Chirico, who greatly influenced his painting. By age 19, Campanile started showing his art in a gallery in Rome called Galleria Esedera.
In 1972 Dario met Salvador Dali in his home in Cadaques, Spain, where he was offered encouragement and inspiration to explore new techniques and compositions. Dali coined him the “Roman Master.” He moved to Los Angeles and painted album covers for artists like Herbie Hancock, Lee Ritenour, David Grousen, Little River Band, Cheech & Chong, among others. He is most well-known for his commission to paint the iconic mountain scene and create a new logo for Paramount Picture’s 75th anniversary in 1986. A few years later, Dario was selected to participate with 85 other artists from over 30 countries worldwide in The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama. He traveled to India and was granted a private visit at the home of His Holiness. This interview provided the artist with the inspiration for the painting, “Missing Peace: Found.”
