NAPLES, FL. – The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (BID) was recognized by the Naples City Council for its support of the “Do The Right Thing” program at the council’s regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
The “Do The Right Thing” program is designed to recognize school-aged children within the community who are doing good things. The program is a community-based initiative that brings the Naples Police Department together with the community, local businesses, local schools, community organizations, city recreational centers, and local youth.
“We are proud to support the ‘Do The Right Thing’ program and publicly thank our youth for their positive deeds and contributions to the community,” said Bruce Barone, Executive Director for the Fifth Avenue South BID. “Our participation in this program helps reinforce exemplary behavior and build bridges of trust throughout the city.”
Fifth Avenue South is a longtime partner in the “Do The Right Thing” program and Barone has served on the organization’s committee for more than three years. The recognition from Naples City Council is in appreciation of the group’s continued support and sponsorship of two children who received the award for the month of November.
