Greenwich, CT interior designer Mitchell Siegel Expands to Florida
Naples, FL: (January 30, 2020) . . . Cocoon has opened a new showroom at 602 Fifth Avenue South bringing nature-inspired furniture and home décor curated by Greenwich, Connecticut designer Mitchell Siegel, explorer, artist and founder according to Bruce Barone, Jr., executive director of the Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District.
An avid world traveler, Siegel established Cocoon in Greenwich in 2009 to share his passion for using natural elements to artfully decorate interiors with unique nature-inspired décor and native craftsmanship. He curates natural materials from his travels to exotic locations in Thailand, Brazil and the Philippines and works with local artisans to create custom furniture pieces and accessories available in both the Greenwich and Naples, Florida locations.
Siegel’s vision and passion for the natural beauty from his trips is evident with his intriguing use of materials and his deep dive into the cultural milieus of striking places to create enticing art, sculpture, and show stopping custom furniture pieces for home, office, and commercial spaces.
Naples is Cocoon’s second location in the United States. The new 2,300 square foot showroom features live edge custom made furniture. According to Mitchell, the Greenwich store stocks slabs of petrified wood, live edge acacia wood, and other incredible materials to choose from. A Cocoon craftsperson will incorporate the natural edge of the wood into the design of the piece, combining the rustic appeal of solid wood furniture with the refined appearance of upmarket design. A handcrafted customized Cocoon piece has the same heirloom life expectancy of handmade furniture with no two pieces exactly alike.
