Southwest Florida restaurants come and go almost as regularly as the tides. Some might ask, “Don’t we have enough restaurants?” With 1,564 in Lee County, 958 in Collier County and 318 in Charlotte, according to state statistics, you might think so. And that doesn’t count those without seats (211 in Lee, 88 in Collier, 31 in Charlotte) plus 196 mobile food outlets rolling through the region. That’s a lot of options. And that number is up from five years ago, when there were 1,368 full-service restaurants in Lee County, 864 in Collier and 299 in Charlotte.
