5th Avenue South to Host 41st Annual Christmas Walk & Tree Lighting Ceremony

NAPLES, Fla. (November 27, 2015) – The 41st annual Christmas Walk & Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on 5th Avenue South (www.FifthAvenueSouth.com).
This momentous Naples’ holiday tradition kicks off with the Tree Lighting Ceremony in Sugden Plaza and special performances by the ReCreation Tappers, Seacrest Country Day School Choir, and Ave Maria Dancers. Following the performances, the majestic Christmas tree will be lit by Mayor John Sorey and guests will enjoy a visit from Santa himself who will be available for pictures in his sleigh. ABC7 anchor, Krista Fogelsong, will emcee the Tree Lighting Ceremony which will be televised on ABC7.
Also kicking off at 5:00 p.m. will be musical performances and activities from over 50 choral groups, dance troupes, musical ensembles, and community groups along the Avenue until 8:30 p.m. Restaurants, shops, and businesses along 5th Avenue South and adjoining streets will be open for shopping, dining, and holiday cheer.
5th Avenue South will be blocked to traffic for this event starting at 2:00 p.m.
Free parking is available in the two public garages on 8th Street, in the public lots on Park Street and 8th Street South along 5th Avenue South Parkway, and in spaces surrounding Cambier Park. Valet is also available daily after 5:00 p.m. During the 5th Avenue Christmas Walk & Tree Lighting on December 3rd, Old Naples, Third Street South and Crayton Cove may be accessed by traveling 9th Street and Central Avenue.
