5th Avenue South’s March Calendar of Events Announced
NAPLES, Fla. (February 25, 2015) – The 5th Avenue South Business Improvement District is thrilled to announce the March calendar of events planned along Naples’ historic 5th Avenue South, including a mix of annual holiday functions and monthly gatherings.
The events scheduled are as follows:
Fine Art & Craft Show
Saturday, March 7
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Cambier Park
Naples is home to a thriving art and crafts community, and the Naples Artcrafters is an association of artists and craft artisans that sponsors a juried Fine Art and Craft Show every month from October through April.
Evening on 5th, Artwalk, & Avenue Sidewalk Sales
Thursday, March 12
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., 5th Avenue South
This special Evening on Fifth will not only feature an array of live musical performances throughout the sidewalk areas of 5th Avenue South, artists will be on hand at galleries to showcases their work, and retail locations will host sidewalk sales. The night will also include fabulous dining, and the opportunity to explore the distinct boutiques, shops, and galleries that span from 9th Street to 3rd Street. Whether you want to relax with friends at dinner or dessert, do some shopping, watch an artist demonstration, or dance with your favorite entertainers, you won’t want to miss this event.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Saturday, March 14
11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 5th Avenue South
The 37th Annual Naples St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. Be sure to join your fellow revelers for the traditional flag raising ceremony at Crayton Cove at 9:30 a.m. to kick off the parade. The parade will be following the traditional route from 3rd Street to 5th Avenue South to 8th Street South.
Downtown Naples Festival of the Arts
Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 5th Avenue South
Presented by the Naples Art Association, the Downtown Naples Festival of the Arts his the last major art festival of the season and will bring more than 20,000 people to the Avenue. This two-day event will feature 260 local, regional, and national artists nestled in the upscale 5th Avenue South shopping and dining district. The festival includes a food court, free parking, and a free shuttle to festival area. In addition, 5th Avenue South retail businesses will host a sidewalk sale during the festival. 5th Avenue South will be closed to traffic.
Annual Butterfly Release
Saturday, March 28
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Cambier Park
Festivities include a live butterfly exhibit, children’s activities, and much more. At noon, a community memorial service will be held and will include inspirational readings, music, and the public reading of names of loved ones being honored. At the conclusion of the service, the exhibit tent will be opened to allow the butterflies to take flight. Proceeds benefit Avow Hospice, Inc. and support end-of-life care in Collier County.
