The Naples Players Present Thursday Theatre Tours
February 27, 2015
The Naples Players will now be offering a new program entitled Thursday Theatre Tours. Over the more than sixty years of its existence, thousands of volunteers have brought hundreds of shows to millions of theatre goers. In the sixteen years since The Players have called Sugden Community Theatre on Fifth Avenue South home, many groups have requested and received tours, visiting the shop where sets are constructed, the backstage area (with its dressing rooms and green room), the costume shop, and rehearsal rooms. Now, The Naples Players are making these complimentary tours an official offering of the theatre and are encouraging residents, groups and organizations to take part in this behind-the-scenes experience.
Thursday Theatre Tours are available Thursdays at 10:30am and last approximately one hour, allowing time for participants to visit restaurants on Fifth Avenue South for lunch afterwards. The tours are limited to groups of twelve, with reservations required at least two weeks in advance. To make a reservation, call 239-434-7340, ext 10.
Having won the coveted Best Live Theatre award 12 years in a row in the Southwest Florida Choice Awards, The Naples Players consists of over 400 volunteers who bring live theatre to residents and visitors in the state-of-the-art Sugden Community Theatre, located at 701 5th Avenue South. Ten shows a year and over 180 performances are conducted annually. In addition, The Naples Players is home to KidzAct, the youth theatre program of The Naples Players, which offers children and teens the opportunity to learn and perform throughout the year. A multitude of adult education classes are also offered.
