5th Avenue South’s February Calendar of Events Announced. 5th Avenue South is excited to host a number of annual and traditional events during the month of February!
NAPLES, Fla. (January 27, 2015) – The 5th Avenue South Business Improvement District is thrilled to announce its February calendar of events planned along Naples’ historic 5th Avenue South. The events scheduled are as follows:
GFWC Naples Women’s Club Annual Flea Market
Saturday, February 7, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.., 570 Park Street
Every year, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Naples Woman’s Club opens its doors — and parking lot — to host an incredible Flea Market where you can find knick-knacks, china, handbags, baskets, clothing, artwork, sports equipment, holiday decorations, and everything in between. There is also a scrumptious array of home baked brownies, cookies, and breads to enjoy while you shop.
Art in the Park
Saturday, February 7
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Park Street
Art in the Park showcases paintings in oil and acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass art, jewelry and wood-working created by members in good standing of the Naples Art Association. For art lovers, it’s a casual, fun-filled venue for meeting local artists and becoming acquainted with their work.
Evening on 5th
Thursday, February 12
6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Get a jump on Valentine’s Day and celebrate with your loved ones at Fifth Avenue South’s Evening on Fifth on Thursday, February 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Evening on Fifth will feature an array of live musical performances throughout the sidewalk areas of Fifth Avenue South. The night will also include fabulous dining, and the opportunity to explore the distinct boutiques, shops, and galleries that span from 9th Street to 3rd Street. Whether you want to relax with friends at dinner or dessert, or dance with your favorite entertainers, you won’t want to miss this event.
Cars on 5th, Ferrari Club of Naples
Saturday, February 14
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
More than 100 Ferraris will be on display with a fine mix of vintage and current V-8s and V-12s from Maranello that are guaranteed to please the crowds. The British contingent will include Jaguar, Lotus, Triumph, and the stately Bentleys. Porsches will be plentiful including some rare race cars. American cars will not be overshadowed, with over 60 Corvettes and other muscle cars expected. The City has also approved Sidewalk Sales all day (9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.)!
Fine Art & Craft Show
Saturday, February 14
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Cambier Park
Naples is home to a thriving art and crafts community, and the Naples Artcrafters is an association of artists and craft artisans that sponsors a juried Fine Art and Craft Show every month from October through April.
Mardi Gras Evening on 5th
Tuesday, February 17
6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
This fun annual evening brings 9,000 folks out for Mardi Gras fun on the Avenue—dining, dancing, live music. The ReCreation Tappers will provide a special Mardi Gras dance performance from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Sugden Plaza. The night will also include the opportunity to explore the distinct boutiques, shops, and galleries that span from 9th Street to 3rd Street along 5th Avenue South and our treasured side streets.
Naples National Art Festival
Saturday & Sunday, February 21 & 22
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Cambier Park
This annual event is celebrating 36 years in Cambier Park and is considered among the top 25 Art Festivals in the country. It brings 20,000 folks to the park and the Avenue over a two-day period. This year, organizers (Naples Art Association) are partnering with the BID to recognize 5th Avenue merchants who are offering discounts or specials that day to event attendees with their event sticker. Businesses will be recognized through call outs through the two day event.
