Fifth Avenue South & The Rotary Club of Naples to Host The Naples Grape Escape on November 15
NAPLES, Fla. (August 27, 2014) – The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District and The Rotary Club of Naples hosted a media event today to announce that they will partner to present The Naples Grape Escape (www.napleswine.org) on November 15 along Fifth Avenue South.
Now in its 10th year, The Naples Grape Escape first was held in a boutique food market. Once the event reached its capacity at that space, it was moved to The Naples Zoo where it was renamed “Grapes & Apes” for the next several years where it once again reached the limits of the venue. Looking for a new opportunity, a symbiotic relationship was struck among Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District and The Rotary Club of Naples professionals and Fifth Avenue South was chosen as the event’s new home.
The Naples Grape Escape is a true festival of fine food, exquisite wines, and outstanding artisan beers held the second weekend of November. The Main Event will take place on Saturday, November 15 and feature a full six blocks of entertainment, food, and drink all along Naples’ famous Fifth Avenue South. Guests will enjoy entertainment from a nationally-recognized headline act with additional local musical groups. Over 50 premium wines will be served including Caymus, Fog Dog, and Nickel & Nickel among many others. An extensive craft beer selection will include both local brews like Naples Beach Brewery and national names like Magic Hat, ensuring that all tastes are satisfied.
Additional events on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday include over 10 vintner dinners at select Fifth Avenue South locations throughout the weekend, delectable chefs’ table multi-course meals, and special parties including an oyster bash, caviar and vodka tastings, and beer matched dinners. The Naples Grape Escape’s renowned Boost Your Wine IQ education seminars will be presented each day on a variety of topics from the basics of wine to presentations on in-depth complexities for even the most knowledgeable of oenophiles. And, don’t forget about the fabulous Naples Grape Escape Online Auction that will run from October 15 through December 1. With several sponsorship levels and ticket sales categories, those interested in attending or sponsoring have options.
According to Rich Ahrens, president of The Rotary Club of Naples, “we couldn’t be more excited to announce that the festival has found a new home at one of Naples’ most recognizable addresses – Fifth Avenue South. This change of venue will not only help grow this treasured, local event, but will also allow us to raise more funds for several deserving organizations.”
Proceeds from The Naples Grape Escape will benefit programs of The Rotary Club of Naples Charitable Foundation including Learn2Earn, a vocational and educational scholarship program providing direction and financial support to promising young people from economic disadvantage; Meals of Hope, where community groups come together to pack meals for hungry people in a half day session; End Polio Now, Rotary International’s 30-year effort to eradicate polio worldwide; Gift of Life International, which focuses on life saving heart surgeries for children in third world countries where adequate facilities are unavailable to provide them with the procedures they need; ShelterBox, a Rotary program providing life’s most basic shelter necessities in response to significant natural disasters; and others.
