July 24, 2013
NAPLES, Fla. (July 23, 2013) –Following the recent completion of an $18 million expansion project and $1.7 million renovation, the Inn on Fifth in downtown Naples, Fla. has announced plans for a new restaurant to be constructed on the site of the McCabe’s Irish Pub & Grill located at its iconic Fifth Avenue South location.
With 240 seats and a private dining room for up to 60 guests, the new 7,000-square-foot restaurant is expected to be the largest on Fifth Avenue South. The $1.5 million restaurant will feature a high energy, contemporary ambiance and is expected to open before Christmas 2013.
Serving a broad menu of classic American cuisine with a focus on grilled entrees, the yet-to-be-named restaurant will serve lunch and dinner, as well as breakfast seasonally. Initial plans include an extravagant, island bar and electric sliding windows offering an open-air dining space along the restaurant’s exterior on Fifth Avenue South and the adjacent Sugden Plaza.
“This new restaurant will truly complement the sophisticated look of the recent renovations and expansion at the Inn on Fifth and will continue to raise the bar for Fifth Avenue,” said Phil McCabe, owner of the Inn on Fifth and Club Level Suites. “We’re excited to have assembled a dream team of amazing imaginaries for this new restaurant project.”
Local firm Kukk Architecture & Design, P.A. will handle the architecture in the creation of the new restaurant. The design-oriented firm specializes in high-end residential and unique commercial projects.
They have worked on several local favorite restaurants, including Sea Salt, Barbatella and The Chapel Grill.”Kukk Architecture is very excited to be part of the design team for this unique project in downtown Naples,” said Jon Kukk, owner of Kukk Architecture & Design. “We intend for this restaurant to be a vibrant piece of architecture on Sugden Plaza and to bring a new flavor to the heart of Naples.”
Wanting only the best for the project, McCabe hired Deangelis Diamond as the builder, having just completed the extravagant new Club Level Inn on Fifth.
He also hired the world-renowned interior architecture and design firm Jeffrey Beers International, whose award-winning work includes the Fontainebleau Resort, Estiatorio Milos, and restaurants for clients such as Daniel Boulud, Todd English, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The firm will handle the restaurant’s interior design elements.
“After working on numerous projects in the Miami area, we’re excited to cross to Florida’s West Coast for this collaboration with Phil McCabe on the design of the restaurant at the Inn on Fifth, which will be a lively addition to the property in the heart of downtown Naples” said Jeffrey Beers, owner of Jeffrey Beers International.
McCabe’s Irish Pub & Grill will close September 3, but McCabe plans to reopen the popular establishment at a new location in downtown Naples in the near future. In the interim, McCabe will continue to sponsor live music and an Irish celebration in Sugden Plaza during St. Patrick’s Day.
