FAS BID Marketing Committee Receives Outstanding Tourism Volunteer Award

NAPLES, Fla. (May 16, 2012) – The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (BID) Marketing Committee was honored with the Outstanding Tourism Volunteer Award at the 10th annual Collier County Tourism Week’s Paradise Coast Tourism Star Awards celebration luncheon. The luncheon was held on May 10 at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa.
Each year the Naples, Marco Island, and Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau sponsor the Paradise Coast Tourism Star Awards in recognition of the vital economic benefit and jobs that tourism brings to Collier County and the priceless contribution of the area’s hardworking hospitality employees.
The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District Marketing Committee was selected as the Outstanding Tourism Volunteer Award recipient because of its tireless promotion of Fifth Avenue South, including strategic planning, selection of a marketing agency, and development of new marketing materials and events. In just one short year, the eight-member committee has provided marketing, promotional, and administrative guidance for economic growth and activity in the Fifth Avenue South corridor of downtown Naples. Members of the committee include Jim Smith, Stefania Martin, Cathy Christopher, Lisa Swirda, Kristen Coury, Denyse Mesnik, Skip Quillen, and Gloria Kovacs.
An independent panel of judges selected winners from the 97 nomination forms submitted.
